The Asimo robot is, I think the humanoid robot’s most advanced world. Promotional tool for Honda, its concepts and some of the developments made by Honda were integrated into other achievement of the Japanese manufacturer. Asimo is the center of a video entitled “Living with Robots” and issuing the views of different writers and researchers on the robots and their increasing integration into society (including Japan).

This video is very informative and rewarding, in addition to being very well filmed and takes only 8 minutes and a half, I invite you to give you a personal opinion in watching it. This issue is particularly desired aims at achieving Asimo and the difficulty of the implementation of walking robot, a simple principle is stated in this video: the robots will be much better accepted if they are like humans and are therefore particularly filled with 2 arms and 2 legs. For a robot I do not think the legs are more useful than 4 wheels (steered or not), except for up or down stairs (it’s quite a challenge!) By cons to grasp objects, arms and hands are better able to handle complex objects.

If you want to discover more about the robot Asimo, Honda has produced several videos dedicated to him on TV Asimo. The company Aldebaran Robotics working on a project named Romeo who seeks to develop a humanoid robot whose size is closer to that of Asimo .
